The Black Dove

I found a sweet mourning dove dead on a bed of soft mosses. She was still lovely and my heart broke that she had been grounded for eternity. I splayed her wings and positioned her feet, photographed her, and gave her a proper burial with tiny violet flowers and mosses. I then manipulated the image to resemble a japanese wood cut of some sort and she became The Black Dove. It is one of my favorite prints. 9 x12 printed on Ultra Premium Matte paper
